	The Village Town of Kateel is at a Distance of about 25 kms from the city of Mangalore. It is hardly 11 kms from the Bajpai Domestic Airport. There are basically two approach roads to the temple. One is from Mangalore City. This Route is very convenient for people coming fromUdupi Dist and Uttar Karnataka side. The other Route is via Bajpai. Kateel is famous for its Temple of Devi Durga Parameshwari popularly known also as Devi Kateeleshwari Temple. The Temple is situated on the Banks of river Nandini. As the mythology goes, Devi incarnated at Kateel for the destruction of evil and promised to stay at Kateel and look after the well being of her devotees. Durga Parameshwari, is believed to be a wish fulfilling Deity. The locals and people in and arround the area also make regular trips to this Temple. During the Annual Jatra in April, grand celebrations are held at the temple premises for around 10 days. Navarathri Festival is for10 days around October. Many religious ceremonies and even marriages are held every day in the Temple premises. All such activities at the Temple ensure unending flow of Devotees to the temple. This area is one of the best locations for setting up of a Restaurant and Lodging tourist/Deluxe Hotel will also have a Conference Hall, Shops and a Restaurant.
